Cool I am trying to solo trap...

I am trying to trap in the underworld by my self. I have had plenty of experiance with fellow Guildites in trapping. This was allways done in a 4-Man Party though...

Skills
Here are my Attributes:


Here are my skills:


Escape^2* - QZ^12 - EW^2 - Flame Trap^5 - Barb Trap^7 - Dust Trap^12 - TU^2 - Rebirth**^5

*When I use Spike trap, I will use Serpans Quickness inplace of Escape.
**I will change Rebirth to Spike Trap once I get it.
^ is how much energy they cost.

What I do, and what happens
1- Make EW Spirit
2- Make QZ Spirit
3- Lay Barb, Flame and Dust
4- Regen Energy
5- Lay Barb, Flame and Dust
5- Regen Energy
6- Lay Barb, Flame and Dust
7- Lure 2-3 Aatxes
8- Damage them to roughly 1/3 HP Left
9- Traps ware off
10- I die

Since I lay the first dust, I lay the other dusts within roughly 65 seconds. This leaves me 25 seconds to lure. I lure them (2-3 in a group). When they get to me, I get hit once (allways happens). They get damaged until about 2/3rds of their HP has gone. They fall back out from where the traps are, but my skills arent recharged anough for me to lay any more. This is when I die, they turn around and come kill me. I can run away using escape but by the time my skills have charged, and I lay more, they have full HP again.

Anyone got any ideas on how to improve my build? I am thinking of changing Escape for Serpants Quickness, then I can maybe set traps fast enough to catch them before they can regen from the first wave of traps...

Btw, I searched "ranger solo trapper" in search but came up with nothing useful.

You can't solo UW with just traps...

Use oath shot and throw dirt?

OT: your avatar is a bitsickening to look at. Four pointy objects going through the same foot in very pain areas....o.O

you said you'll put in spike trap when you get it, but escape and spike trap are both elite so.....i would take serpent's quickness instead of rebirth for more traps per amount of time.

I have got quite far with a 2 trapper group before but to solo...

Maybe use dodge instead of escape to free up your elite slot? What weapon are you using? If you are still holding a bow, get rid of it, you want a nice high energy staff

I know its an Ele skill but you could switch to ele secondary and take Mist form with you, you can't attack but you still can lay traps. Might keep you alive long enough to finish them off.

I am going to put Serpants Quickness inplace of Escape, then use Spike Trap instead of rebirth

I use the Yakslapper, which is +15 Energy

SQ = More traps = More damage output.

Spike Trap = More traps = More damage output.

So in theory, if you take those two skills, you could double or quadruple your damage output. Spike trap also makes them become knocked down which makes them stay in the traps longer. (Dust trap activates I think atleast twice doing 26 damage each time, so that might help)

I would use Morgriff's staff for the 10/10 and +10 armor just in case. Also, skip out rebirth for Serpent's quickness.

@ Knifes - Dust trap pulses 5 times, fire pulses 3 times.

i have a suggestion use multiple wepon sets have a secondary with a 27 nrg anke or chacram and switch to cast the final blow i use on monk for final blows or cast of soj

Maybe 15 expertise as well?

Also oath shot will help the recharge time greatly.

Grab a good staff and a half moon or short bow. Use Oath Shot and the 3 damaging non elite traps. Bring EW, QZ, Throw Dirt, and TU.

You can solo smites with traps only. It takes a lot of practice. I haven't managed to do it yet. Good luck!
